Integrated Mission-Critical Payroll & Personnel Management System
Sri Lanka's largest employer, Sri Lanka Army comprises over 200,000 officers and soldiers deployed across the entire island nation.
The management required an effective & vibrant system to cater to its demanding requirements in paying all the personnel who are deployed across the Island in time, especially during wartime.
It also required a strong reporting mechanism on personnel information for the Management to boost its decision making process. The management demanded a stable application architecture to support tight integration needs as the different units operated independently across the SLA's payroll processing.
Our Team conducted an in-depth analysis through a pre-defined process to identify the organizational objectives, technical aspects of the project and the real operational requirements. The Team succeeded in this by establishing close interaction with subject matter experts of the organization, conducting interviews of end users, and analyzing written documentation and data structures of the existing systems.
We planned a phased iterative roadmap prioritizing high business value first to achieve expected milestones in the long run until final go-live.
The solution based on ORACLE & JAVA technology successfully replaced the multiple systems across the organization with a mission-critical single integrated system to pay over 200,000 personnel monthly. It provides essential management information in real-time and is supported by an ongoing post-live support service.
The management is fully satisfied as the introduction of the new solution helped to reduce operating costs drastically, and the Sri Lanka Army has reliably operated this system continuously since 2004.
